An Original Poem
Have you ever felt alone?
Alone – with no one around…
Alone – with everyone surrounding you…
Alone in a room – alone in a crowd…
Alone with your thoughts the keep getting loud…
All of the digital “friends” can’t help with the noise…
I feel like they can’t understand me – they can’t relate…
With their perfect lives and their perfect lies…
Maybe I’m the only one – maybe everyone feels connected…
But I am totally afraid if I tell someone how I feel then I might get rejected…
When did aloneness turn into loneliness?
Will anybody “get” me – when I say – I am tired of being – feeling – alone?
But I don’t even know how to tell a friend – when I am with them – that I need them…
Who can help me?
Who can connect me?
Who can meet me – when I feel alone…
